RECRUITMENT NOTICE
ONLINE applications are invited for the following vacant posts of Yogoda Satsanga Kshirodamoyee Vidyapith (H.S.), P.O.- Lakhanpur, DIST- Purulia, PIN-723104, running under the aegis of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India through Special Rules granted by the Govt. of West Bengal. The last date of submitting applications online is 9th March, 2026.
Disqualification (applicable to all the advertised posts):
(a) No person shall be eligible for selection for appointment unless he is a citizen of India.
(b) No person shall be eligible for selection for appointment if he is convicted by any Court of law.
Qualifications:
Essential:
1.For H.M. (Post no. 1):
All eligibility criteria (including age) will be as per norms of the WBSSC Rules for Appointment of Teachers 2007 and all subsequent amendments issued till date.
(a) The Candidate must be a citizen of India.
Master's Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks at the Post Graduate Level, with degree in Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Education/Post Graduate Basic Training from any recognized University or any training recognized by the State Government as equivalent to Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Education/Post-Graduate Basic Training from a Teachers' Training Institution duly recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in the relevant academic session:
Provided that the above criteria of marks shall not apply to a Headmaster/Headmistress already appointed in Jr. High/ High/ Higher Secondary School prior to publication of these amendments.
Ten years continuous teaching experience on the last date of submission of application in approved service in a Higher Secondary School/High School/Junior High School recognized by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education/West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
Note - As per rule, a candidate willing to be selected as a Headmaster/Headmistress for Classes XI & XII in any Government aided or Government sponsored school having Bengali or English or Hindi or Nepali or Oriya or Santhali or Telugu or Urdu as the medium of instruction, as the case may be, shall have passed Bengali or English or Hindi or Nepali or Oriya or Santhali or Telugu or Urdu, as the case may be, as first or second or third language at Secondary/ Higher Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation level examination conducted by the Board or other concerned bodies.Bengali is the medium of instruction in the present school.
2.For A.T., Bengali (Post no. 2) and for A.T., Pure Science (Post no. 3):
All eligibility criteria (including age) will be as per norms of the WBSSC Rules for Appointment of Teachers 2007 and all subsequent amendments issued till date.
(a) The Candidate must be a citizen of India.
(b) On or before the last date of receiving online application , he/she must possess the minimum qualification, as prescribed by the NCTE for Assistant Teachers of Classes IX & X.[(a) Graduate / Post Graduate from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution,
or
(b) 4–year degree of B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed. from any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.]
Note - As per rule, a candidate willing to be selected as an Assistant Teacher for Classes IX & X in any Government aided or Government sponsored school having Bengali or English or Hindi or Nepali or Oriya or Santhali or Telugu or Urdu as the medium of instruction, as the case may be, shall have passed Bengali or English or Hindi or Nepali or Oriya or Santhali or Telugu or Urdu, as the case may be, as first or second or third language at Secondary/ Higher Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation level examination conducted by the Board or other concerned bodies.Bengali is the medium of instruction in the present school.
Note - A candidate applying for a subject must have passed at least the graduation level examination with a minimum of 300 full marks in the relevant or concerned subject or post graduate examination in the concerned or relevant subject.
3. For A.T., Sanskrit (Post no. 4 as mentioned above):
All eligibility criteria (including age) will be as per norms of the WBSSC Rules for Appointment of Teachers 2007 and all subsequent amendments issued till date.
(a) The Candidate must be a citizen of India.
(b) On or before the last date of receiving online application, he/she must possess the minimum qualification, as prescribed by the NCTE for Assistant Teachers for Upper Primary Level of classes.(c) Pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), to be conducted by the appropriate State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.
Note - A candidate willing to be selected as an Assistant Teacher for Upper Primary Level of classes in any School having Bengali or English or Hindi or Nepali or Oriya or Santhali or Telugu or Urdu as the medium of instruction, as the case may be, shall have passed Bengali or English or Hindi or Nepali or Oriya or Santhali or Telugu or Urdu, as the casemay be, as first or second or third language at Secondary/ Higher Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation level examination conducted by the Board or equivalent Bodies.
Bengali is the medium of instruction in the present school.

4. For A.T., Work Education (Post no. 5 as mentioned above):
All eligibility criteria (including age) will be as per norms of the WBSSC Rules for Appointment of Teachers 2007 and all subsequent amendments issued till date.
(a) The Candidate must be a citizen of India.
(b) On or before the last date of receiving online application , he/she must possess the minimum qualification, as prescribed by the NCTE for Assistant Teachers of Work Education.(c) Graduate from a recognised university with Post Graduate Basic Training or Work Education as a subject in Bachelor of Education in regular course from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE);
OR
Graduate with Degree or Diploma in Art and Craft from any recognised University/any recognised educational Institution affiliated to any University;
OR
Graduate with Degree or Diploma in Tailoring and needle work from any Institution duly recognised by any recognised University/from any institute recognized by any Department of the Government of West Bengal;
OR
Graduate from recognised University with at least two years Degree or Diploma in the Work Education curriculum awarded by any recognised University;
OR
Graduate Degree in Home Science or Agriculture or Graduate in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software systems from any recognized University;
OR
Graduate in General Stream in Arts/Science/Commerce with Computer Science or Computer Application as a subject of at least 300 marks at the degree level from any recognised University;
Desirable: Degree in Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Education/Post- Graduate Basic Training from any recognized University or any training recognized by the State Government as equivalent to Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Education/Post-Graduate Basic Training from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)/ Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) in the relevant academic session;

Age-Limit:
1. For H.M. (Post no. 1):
maximum 55 years as on 1st January of the year of advertisement.
2. For A.T., Bengali (Post no. 2) and for A.T., Pure Science (Post no. 3):
Minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years as on 1st January of the year of advertisement. Upper age limit is however relaxable as per State Government norms for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, OBC and Physically Handicapped Candidates.
N.B. - Age relaxation in connection with fresh selection process for recruitment of candidates for the posts of Assistant Teachers for Classes IX, X, XI and XII, commenced pursuant to the directions contained in the judgment and order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 4800 of 2024 dated 3rd April, 2025 read with order dated 17th April, 2025 in M.A. No. 709 of 2025, shall be given in accordance with the directions contained therein and to be passed in connection therewith from time to time.
3. For A.T., Sanskrit (Post no. 4):
Minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years as on 1st. day of January of the year of publication of advertisement. Upper age limit is however relaxable as per existing State Government norms for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, OBC and Physically Handicapped Candidates.
4. For A.T., Work Education (Post no. 5):
Minimum 20 years and maximum 40 years. Upper age limit is however relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates, 3 years for Backward Class candidates and 8 years for the Physically Handicapped Candidates.

Selection to the post of HM shall be made on the basis of Written Examination, evaluation of Academic and Professional Qualifications, teaching experience and personality tests.

Experience: 5 Marks
Break-up of Marks allocated for Experience:
- ten years – 0 marks
- above ten years and up to twenty years – 3 marks
- above twenty years – 5 marks
PT: 7 Marks
Appearance before the personality test board is compulsory.
Selection to the post shall be made on the basis of Written Examination, evaluation of Academic Qualifications, Oral Interview and Lecture Demonstration

Appearance before the Selection Committee for Oral Interview and Lecture Demonstration is compulsory.
Selection to the Post of Assistant Teacher for Upper Primary Level of Classes shall be made on the basis of marks obtained on academic score, TET weightage, marks in written examination and marks in oral interview, marks for lecture demonstration and marks for prior teaching experience, to be determined in the following manner:
(1) Academic Score (based on marks of Graduation) : 10 Marks
Percentage obtained Merit score
60% and above 10 marks
Below 60% to 50% 8 marks
Below 50% 6 marks
No rounding off of percentages is allowed.
(2) TET weightage : 40 marks
(3) Written Examination - OMR-based (WT): 25 marks
4. For A.T., Work Education (Post no. 5):
WT: 25 marksSubjective Test – 15 marks
Test of aptitude in imparting value-based education along the lines of the Aims and Ideals of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India – 10 marks

[At the secondary level in a government or government-aided or government-sponsored school, calculated based on 2 marks for each year of service in a substantive post (as permanent or on a contractual basis)]

Appearance before the Selection Committee for Oral Interview and Lecture Demonstration is compulsory.
Selection to the Post of Upper Primary Teacher for Work Education shall be made on the basis of written examination, evaluation of qualifications of the candidates and personality tests:
(a) Written Examination (WT): 55 marks

Appearance before the Personality Test Board is compulsory.
Note – TET qualifying certificate is not required for an incumbent to apply for Assistant Teacher in Work Education. However, one TET qualified incumbent can apply for Work Education only if he/she has essential qualifications as laid down abovePay scale, allowances and other retirement benefits are as per state govt. rules as applicable to grant in-aid institutions.
After completing the formal registration process through our Appointment Portal, applicants have to fill in and submit online all the required details, and upload all relevant certificates, documents and/or testimonials, passport-sized photographs, before submitting their applications. Examination Fees:
For HM: ₹ 1000/- (For all categories) For AT (Post no. 2 and 3): ₹ 600/- (UR, OBC), 500/- (SC, ST), No examination fees for Physically Handicapped (PH), Exempted Categories (EC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) For AT (Post no. 4 and 5): ₹ 500/- (UR, OBC), 400/- (SC, ST), No examination fees for Physically Handicapped (PH), Exempted Categories (EC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) N.B.:
Examination fees for all the five posts are to be paid ONLINE only as per the instruction given in the website.
- All eligible candidates will be issued admit cards for the Written Test.
- A merit list will be prepared considering only the first five position holders based on the written tests and academic qualifications. The enlisted candidates in the merit list will be issued call letters for the Oral Interview and Lecture Demonstration or Personality Test as the case may be.
- The final panel of three successful candidates in order of merit will be prepared after considering the total score obtained in written tests, academic qualifications, Oral Interview and Lecture Demonstration or Personality Test as the case may be.
- The details of venue and dates of written test, Oral Interview and Lecture Demonstration or Personality Test will be duly intimated to all eligible candidates and will also be published in our Appointment Portal.
- For consideration of applications in SC/ ST/ OBC / PH Categories, certificates issued by the competent authorities of only the Government of West Bengal, as on or before the last date of receiving online application, shall be treated as valid documents. Candidates belonging to such categories from other States will have to appear as General Candidates only without any corresponding concession / relaxation in respect of age, fees and qualifying marks.
